With proper care, beeswax wraps can be reused for up to 6–12 months, depending on how often you use them and how well you clean and store them
Beeswax wraps are not waterproof. They are water-resistant, which means they can hold slightly moist items (like cut fruit or cheese), but they are not suitable for storing foods with a lot of liquid like soup or stew. It’s best to use a sealed container for wet food.
When the wrap loses its stickiness or the wax coating wears off, you have two options:
• Refresh it by adding a new layer of beeswax (you can melt beeswax pellets onto it and reheat in the oven).
• Compost it or repurpose it as a natural fire starter if you don’t want to re-wax it.
Gently wash your wrap with cool or lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not use hot water, as it can melt the wax. Air dry and store in a clean, dry place.
